Sabrina is a Professor of Quantum Information, Computing and Logic at the University of Helsinki. She has been working on Quantum Technology for over 20 years, focussing on noise in quantum devices, complex quantum systems and quantum simulations. She loves the mountains, the sea, her converted campervan Zag, and all food from her Mother Island, Sicily.

Guillermo holds a PhD from the Univ. of Barcelona and did postdoctoral research at the Univ. of Turku and the Univ. of Helsinki. He co-founded Algorithmiq in 2020, where he has worked as CSO since then. He is interested in quantum information and network theory and enjoys spending time outdoors with his dogs, Lyra and Megan.

Matteo holds a PhD in Quantum Physics from the University of Milan and did postdoctoral research at University of Turku and Aalto University (Finland). He is interested in quantum simulation, computation and metrology and loves programming (classical and quantum) computers. He also plays the guitar and likes travelling.

Boris holds a degree in Electronics and a PhD from the University of Turku on the topic of open quantum systems, special relativity and complex systems. His other interests include quantum computing and machine learning. He enjoys nature, cycling and windsurfing.

Jussi studied mathematics, physics and fine arts at McGill and the Univ. of Helsinki. He received his PhD from the Univ. of Oxford. In addition to his research on the scope and limitations of modeling nature, Jussi has played a key role in founding and advising several companies and institutions such as academia.edu, DeepMind, Intellectual Ventures, Turkana Basin Institute, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences and the Emmy Network.
Zoltán Zimborás

Zoltán is the head of the Quantum Computing Group at the Wigner Research Centre. He received his PhD at Eötvös University and worked later at UCL and FU Berlin. His research at Algorithmiq focuses on both the theoretical aspects of variational quantum algorithms and their practical implementation. He is passionate about teaching chess to children, especially to his six-year-old daughter.

Mark received a joint Honours Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from McGill University in 2005, and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Concordia University. In 2016 he helped launch the Emmy Network, where he continues to conduct research on complex systems and machine learning. He is a father of two, a beatmaker, and tea snob.

His research has focused on the development of scalable numerical approaches to study thermo-electric effects in correlated materials. Elsi holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics and did postdoctoral research at Aalto Univ. and Univ. of Turku focusing on theoretical characterization of quantum noise. She has also worked in industrial research on topics ranging from advanced analytics and prognostics for electrical devices to human-robot interfaces. She loves all kinds of sports, nature, good food and sauna.

Stefan is a Privatdozent at the U Mainz and received his venia legendi in theoretical chemistry from ETH Zürich. He got his PhD at the U Düsseldorf and did postdoctoral research at the U Strasbourg and the Univ. of Southern Denmark in Odense. He is interested in the chemistry of the heaviest elements and in multi-configurational electronic structure theory. He loves spending time with his family, playing tennis and running in nature.
